Data stored locally

Your Privacy, Our Priority

Ledger is built on the foundation of privacy. Here's exactly how we handle your data.

100% Local Storage

All your financial data is stored directly in your browser using localStorage. Nothing is ever uploaded to our servers or any third-party services.

No Tracking or Analytics

We don't use Google Analytics, tracking pixels, or any other monitoring tools. Your usage patterns remain completely private.

No Account Required

Start using Ledger immediately without creating an account, providing an email, or setting a password. Your data stays yours.

Export Your Data

You have complete control over your data. Export it anytime as JSON and take it with you wherever you go.

Technical Details

Data Storage

Ledger uses the browser's localStorage API to store your transaction data. This means:

  • Data is stored on your device only
  • It persists between browser sessions
  • Clearing browser data will remove your transactions
  • Each browser maintains separate storage

No Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or process any of the following:

  • Personal information (name, email, etc.)
  • Financial transaction details
  • Usage patterns or analytics
  • IP addresses or location data
  • Browser or device information

Third-Party Services

Ledger does not integrate with any third-party services that could compromise your privacy:

  • No advertising networks
  • No analytics providers
  • No cloud storage services
  • No social media integrations

Security Considerations

While we prioritize privacy, please be aware of these security considerations:

  • Data is not encrypted - anyone with device access can view it
  • Shared device users may see each other's data
  • Browser extensions could potentially access localStorage
  • Regular backups are recommended for important data
